Job Description:
OVERVIEW:	
This position is responsible for maintaining strategic objectives and 
targets that are 
linked with the corporate targets and its corresponding corporate goals.  
Duties 
include directing and coordinating activities that will continue to 
improve plant 
performance.  Specific activities are to drive and support the Melt 
department 
productivity, quality, continuously improve safety and environment 
policies and 
procedures are implemented and cost improvement goals.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
#	Make sure all associates assigned to melting are present for work,
						
#	Help team leaders with various tasks and/problems,
					
#	Ensure proper operation of equipment and machines,	
	
					
#	Ensure proper processes, safety, quality and cost reduction 
methods 
are being implemented,		
					
#	Schedule relining and sintering of each furnace,	
		
#	Monitor boring chip stock and usage,		
	
#	Coordinate maintenance in melting department,
	
#	Prepare associates work schedule,
	
#	Perform process work in the melting department due to absence or 
vacation
	
#	Evaluate associate work performance,
	
#	Insure acquiring of “target” production in the melting department,
	
#	Hold regular team leader meetings,
	
#	File daily production paper work,
#	Maintain a clean working environment in melt
	
#	Research, evaluate all shifts, implement (when practical/feasible) 
latest 
techniques for efficient and
	productive operations in Melt Department

Qualifications:
•	High School Diploma or equivalent 
•	Minimum of 7 years of melting experience
•	Thorough knowledge of Melting process with the ability to conduct 
hands on training
•	Prior experience working with Kaizen or Continuous Improvement 
work 
teams 
•	Lean principles background is a plus
•	General computer skills
•	Build employee effectiveness
•	Foster open communication and champion change

Working Conditions:

Hands on with majority of the time on the shop floor; partial time will be 
spent in an 
office environment as required.  Hard-hat, safety glasses, earplugs, steel-
toed boots 
are required on production floor.
