SUMMARY: An Aerospace Tool Design Lead estimates
and plans design projects, locks design
concepts, and executes design and stress
analysis with a team of internal or external
designers to budget, scope, schedule, and
customer requirements. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Manage designers, stress analysis, offload
design and offload fabrication Manage projects
using Primavera Design/project estimating Backup
for designers and engineering manager
EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SPECIALIZED TRAINING: US
Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status
Required A 4-year Bachelor's Degree in
Mechanical Engineering or a similar field is
required with at least 5 years mechanical and
structural experience. A strong background in
composites and aerospace/marine process tooling
with experience in surface modeling and
design/project estimating is essential.
Candidate must have strong communication and
project/personnel management skills and the
ability to cross function between tooling and
structures. Must have the ability to run
structural static calculations and experience in
finite element analysis of composite and steel
structures. Must be able to size motors,
actuators, bearings, and gears. Familiarity with
Microsoft Office products, Mathcad and Primavera
is expected, and a high level of capability with
UG/CATIA(V5) modeling and drafting is also
required. Some domestic and international travel
is required. MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT USED:
Computers, Calculators, Desk Phones, Cellular
Smart Phones, Books, and Other Reference
Material. WORKING CONDITIONS: General office
conditions are typical. May be rarely exposed to
dust, loud noises, chemical fumes, fiberglass,
and carbon fiber. |
