Job Description:
Our Applied Vision Systems department is looking
for an IP Video subject matter expert (SME). The
IP Video SME is responsible for product
implementation, sales, and design aspects of our
Wireless IP Video Systems. This individual will
have various responsibilities and works closely
with other departments including production,
engineering, support and sales. A primary
responsibility will be to work with sales staff
and customers to identify and recommend
solutions which most appropriately fit
application requirements. The IP Video SME will
provide support for both pre and post sales
efforts by attending presentations, product
demonstrations, and
installations/implementations. Projects will
primarily include IP video, wireless video,
analytics and related surveillance technology.
Production and fabrication employees will look
to the IP Video SME for guidance on the design
and implementation of our wireless surveillance
systems. As an IP Video SME you should have an
advanced knowledge of surveillance technologies,
have the ability to adapt new technologies, and
utilize critical thinking skills to identify and
recommend solutions quickly. Must be willing to
travel as necessary to support company sales and
support staff. May require up to 25% or more
travel.
EMPLOYEE MUST BE WILLING TO BE BASED IN THE
EUGENE, OREGON HEADQUARTERS OFFICE.
Qualifications – MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors degree in a related technical field
or of 3 years of related experience
- 2+ years experience in IP Video systems or
related industry
- Full understanding of IP Networking including
hardware and protocols. This individual should
be familiar with routing, switching, cabling and
wireless network hardware. Individual must have
knowledge of static and dynamic IP Addressing,
masks, gateways, port forwarding, translation
and related schemes and protocols. Understanding
of things such as NAT, Port translation, DNS,
Bandwidth calculation, security and encryption
is valuable.
- In depth understanding of IP video
fundamentals including related requirements such
as general IP video technology, systems design,
protocols, communications and installation
details.
Desired:
- Certification with a major IP Video hardware
Manufacturer (i.e. Axis, Pelco, Sony, Bosch,
Etc)
- Certification from a major Video Management
System Manufacturer (i.e. Milestone, Genetec,
Indigo Vision etc)
- Advanced knowledge in IP video technology such
as Analytics, Integration, Mobile Video and
related components
- Recognized major computer, Software and/or
networking technology certifications, this may
include A+, Cisco, Wireless Administration and
similar certifications
- Familiarity with RF (Primarily Cellular /
802.11) connectors, cabling, antennas and
frequencies.
- Basic electronics components and/or assembly
knowledge
- Mechanical design or fabrication background
